The Tipping Round from Hell!
‘The Choker’s Party’
Some of you may know ‘The Choker aka gothetahs’, as he’s been one of the incumbents in the Network Ops AFL and Super 14 tipping comp over the past 34 years.
Anyway, The Choker organised a party last Friday night (“it’s just a few drinks at my place guys”) and invited a few cool friends from the obviously ‘in’ side of the office, the V Australia Flight Ops section.
I’m not sure why The Phantom Tipster and I both missed out on invites (maybe because we’re Network Ops not Flight Ops!), but when confronted about the rather neglectful series of events, the Choker flipped quicker than a steak on a teppanyaki grill. The Phantom and I chose not to accept the late and hastily delivered apologi/vite, and went to our homes on Friday evening to reflect on our newly realised ‘uncool’ standing in the office.
Apparently the party was over as soon as the cockroaches in The Chokers kitchen made an appearance anyway (although, the Choker is from NSW so I thought that cockroaches in his house would be kind of expected?)
So I’ve decided to start a worldwide search to look for a new ‘Choker’ for our tipping comp, as the current Choker obviously doesn’t appreciate the amount of hard work that both I and the Phantom Tipster have put in, in our efforts to achieve the ultimate level of coolness that we strive for.
NB. Entries from the following people will not be accepted as I’m not a handicappers left one, and these people could all be equally considered a ‘shoe in’ to win.
· Greg Norman – 96 US Masters
· Jana Novotna – 93 Women’s Final at Wimbledon.
· Any members of the 2002 Collingwood Grand final side listed below (except Nathan, Scotty Burns, Jimmy C and Rupert) but especially Leon, Jarrod Who, Carl Who and Heath ‘you can have him Carlton’ Scotland.
